Kieran McLoughlin is Managing Partner at Venturewave Capital and a member of its investment committee. He leads business strategy, daily operations, and investor relations, driving the firm’s impact investment model and brand development. Kieran coordinates closely with the executive team and Global Advisory Council, applying Venturewave’s active management and transformative approaches to enhance the firm’s portfolio companies.
Previously, Kieran served as Worldwide President and CEO of The Ireland Funds (2009–2018), overseeing a global philanthropic network supporting peace, education, community development, and culture. Under his leadership, the organisation raised over $300 million, significantly expanded its grant-making capabilities, increased its endowment, and improved its efficiency rating with Charity Navigator. He notably led the successful Promising Ireland Campaign, raising over $226 million following the global financial crisis.
Earlier roles include CEO positions at The Ireland Funds America and The Ireland Funds Ireland, where he enhanced fundraising efforts, strengthened international donor relations, and expanded global networking events. Kieran’s extensive background includes senior positions at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and the Dublin International Sports Council.
Kieran is chairman of NoFrixion, Ireland’s first fintech startup which was authorised as an electronic money institution by the Central Bank of Ireland. He holds board positions at Glucksman Ireland House at New York University, the John and Pat Hume Foundation. He advises boards such as Endeavor Ireland and the Smurfit Business School North American Advisory Board.
Kieran has been honoured with the 2023 William J Flynn Award by the National Committee on American Foreign Policy and consistently recognised among the Irish America Business Top 100 and Wall Street Top 50. He holds a B.A. in Politics & Economics from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Financial Management from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
