Michael Spellacy

With 25 years of distinguished global experience in the Capital Markets industry, Mr. Spellacy is an executive leader, investor and advisor, driving critical business and technology insights to Boards and C-Suite executives. He has led complex global business agendas and achieved bottom-line results ranging from $1B+ in revenue increases to $2B+ in cost-improvement.

Mr. Spellacy is the CEO of Atlas Crest Investment Corporation with two publicly listed NYSE (ACIC, ACII) investment companies, and is globally recognized as a proven Technology and Private Equity leader.

Michael was most recently a Senior Managing Director for Capital Markets at Accenture and member of Accenture’s global leadership committee. He was responsible for the industry group’s overall vision and strategy, investment priorities and supporting ecosystem of alliance partners. Mr Spellacy led Accenture’s Asset Management, Wealth Management, and Investment & Trading businesses.

Previously, Mr. Spellacy was a Partner at Broadhaven Capital, an industry leading independent investment bank and private equity investor serving the financial services and technology sectors.

Broadhaven is recognized for leading landmark Exchange, Market infrastructure and technology transactions, including serving as advisor to ICE in its acquisition of the New York Stock Exchange, and completing over $25Bn of announced transactions in the last three years.

Mr. Spellacy was previously a Management Committee Senior Executive at Bridgewater, a globally recognized money manager and the largest hedge fund in the world. In this role, Michael led Bridgewater’s $130B AuM Transformation Program. He also led Client Service & Marketing and served as key external client interface to Bridgewater’s investor base of sovereign wealth funds and world class asset owners, prospects, and regulatory and third-party bodies.

Michael was also a Partner and Managing Director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he led the firm’s global Alternative Investments Practice. Additionally, Michael served as lead Partner in BCG’s industry recognized Asset Management practice providing strategic business advisory services to global asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, and asset owners.

Michael has been recognized as a member of the Global 100 Irish Business Leaders, is a sought-after public speaker on Technology and Capital Markets, and has published and been cited in leading news sources, journals and periodicals.

He received his B.S. (Econ) and Dp. Econ. Sc. from the London School of Economics, MBA from the University of Hartford, and has undertaken advanced professional training at CalTech.
