Marc Lederman
Marc Lederman is a co-founder of NewSpring Capital, a family of specific purpose private equity funds headquartered in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. NewSpring manages over $2.5 billion in capital across growth equity and debt strategies. Marc has an extensive background in finance, investing, consulting and accounting. Prior to co-founding NewSpring in 2000, he was with Deloitte in the firm’s Business Assurance and Advisory Practice.
He currently serves on the boards of Exegy (FinTech), Intersection (Digital Out-of-Home Advertising), Snagajob (Human Capital Management Platform), Sangoma Technology Corporation (VoIP/UCAAS). Past board roles included 3Pillar Global (sold to a financial sponsor), EnterpriseDB (sold to a financial sponsor), InnaPhase (sold to Thermo Fisher Scientific Ticker: TMO), Quintiq (sold to Dassault Systemes Ticker: DASTY), Raritan (Sold to Legrand SA Ticker: LGRDY) and Star2Star Communications (sold to Sangoma Technology Corporation Ticker: STC).
Marc is an active member of the Mid-Atlantic region’s private equity and venture capital community. He serves on the executive committees of the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technology and Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Association. He also serves as a national judge for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards in the United States. Mr. Lederman was selected as one of the Philadelphia region’s “Outstanding Directors” in 2014 and “40 Under 40” business leaders in 2005.
He received a B.S. in Accountancy with honors from Villanova University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Marc was a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).
Marc lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Jen, and their two daughters, Ashely and Rachel. Marc has deep Irish roots, thanks to his mother, Ita McCawley, who was born and raised in Geevagh, Co. Sligo prior to immigrating to the United States in the late 1960s to pursue a nursing career.
