David Marshall is a Venture Partner at Venturewave Capital. He brings over 20 years of experience across corporate development, capital markets, and strategic finance, supporting the firm’s sourcing, evaluation, and execution of high-impact investments.
David specialises in complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt structuring, and strategic capital planning. He plays a key role in originating opportunities, supporting diligence processes, and advising portfolio companies on financial strategy, governance, and investor engagement.
Prior to joining Venturewave in 2024, David held senior leadership roles at Digicel Group, UDG Healthcare, and Elan Corporation. Over his career, he has led and executed transactions exceeding $5 billion, including a €330 million public company sale at a significant premium for shareholders, and a $3 billion debt restructuring as part of a broader $5 billion refinancing programme.
Earlier in his career, David worked at Investec (formerly NCB Group), where he focused on institutional equity sales and was a top-ranked senior equity analyst in European healthcare. His work supported major capital raises and M&A transactions across healthcare and technology sectors.
At Venturewave, David works closely with the investment team and portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance on financial structuring, capital allocation, and scaling initiatives. He also contributes to the firm’s global investor network and supports syndication and co-investment opportunities.
David holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and a B.A. (Mod) in Natural Sciences from Trinity College Dublin. He has also completed executive training in negotiation and corporate strategy at INSEAD.
