This Impact Investing Roundtable, brought together by Venturewave, brought together global leaders for a wide-ranging discussion on sustainability, capitalism, and the future of investment leadership.

The event featured Mary Robinson (Former President of Ireland), Mairead McGuinness (European Commissioner), and Dr Linda Doyle (President & Provost, Trinity College Dublin). Moderated by Kieran McLoughlin, Managing Partner at Venturewave Capital, the panel tackled climate justice, regulatory leadership, rewilding, ESG reform, and the role of emerging markets in a shifting global economy.

Mary Robinson urged for rapid carbon reduction and more inclusive investment models. Mairead McGuinness highlighted the EU’s taxonomy and sustainable finance initiatives, while Linda Doyle emphasised the need for critical education and systemic change, primarily through technology and youth leadership.

Core themes included:

  • Achieving the UN SDGs through public-private capital cooperation
  • Shaping ESG and impact with legislative and grassroots action
  • Aligning climate action, capitalism, and intergenerational justice

The Impact Investing Roundtable, hosted by Venturewave, served not only as a conversation starter but also as a call to action. Participants shared that the time for passive ESG adoption is over. Instead, investors must actively measure, report, and improve the social and environmental consequences of their capital deployment.

One major takeaway was the growing need to support underrepresented groups, particularly women-led initiatives in climate and community resilience. Mary Robinson pointed out that less than 0.2% of climate finance reaches grassroots women’s organisations, a gap that impact investors have the opportunity—and responsibility—to close.

As Ireland positions itself as a hub for values-based capital, this event reaffirmed Venturewave’s commitment to building partnerships that span public policy, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and institutional finance. This Impact Investing Roundtable at Venturewave marks another step toward global leadership in measurable, equitable, and enduring impact.
