Loretta Cooney
Loretta lives in Chicago, is married to Bob Cooney and has three adult children and three grandchildren. She attended the University of Illinois and Loyola Law School. Loretta retired from the practice of law but has remained involved with numerous non-profit institutions. She was the head of Education and the Board Chairman of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund for over 10 years. The Murphy Foundation is Chicago’s largest private scholarship organization. It provides support services and scholarship assistance to over 450 economically disadvantaged high school students every year. She has also served on numerous boards and foundations including Fenwick High School, the Abra Prentice Foundation and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Loretta is on the education and community outreach committee of the Goodman Theatre which provides access to theatre and the arts to Chicago’s elderly and public high school population. The Prentice Foundation is a large private organization which investigates and then supports homeless shelters, environmental groups, support services for incarcerated individuals and numerous other deserving individuals and groups.
