Mary Robinson Receives Impact Ireland Award

Mary Robinson has received the first-ever Impact Ireland Award. The award honours her lifelong work in climate justice and global sustainability.

Robinson is a former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. She accepted the award at a special event hosted by Venturewave Capital. The Edge and Adam Clayton from U2 presented the award. Both are members of the Global Advisory Council of Impact Ireland, a fund that backs tech companies working toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“This event marked our first in-person Council meeting,” said Kieran McLoughlin. “Members travelled from Ireland, the UK, the US, and Asia. Our fund supports high-growth companies that meet the SDGs. These businesses will grow globally, starting in Ireland. We are proud to honour Mary Robinson, a true Irish leader.”

Many prominent figures attended the event, including An Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD and Mairead McGuinness, the EU Commissioner for Financial Services. Their presence demonstrated strong support for sustainability at the highest levels and highlighted the importance of collective action. Furthermore, the event sparked innovative ideas and fostered valuable partnerships for the future. As a result, attendees left feeling inspired and motivated to pursue sustainable initiatives.
